Battens

Behind the visible facade hides a wooden framework. Wood59® has developed a range of treated- painted- and fire retardant treated- facade frame battens. Whether the facade is horizontally or vertically orientated and either build with open or closed facade elements,  Wood59® offers a matching assortment of frame battens.

In the tables below are the different types of battens displayed.

Our standard impregnated battens and ventilation laths are treated in an autoclave under vacuum and pressure. Wood59® uses preservatives from Arxada (Tanalith E and Tanatone)  which comply with the European standards. The treatment procedures are carefully set per dimension to enable a consistent quality and color tone.

With open facade elements, the battens are treated with a special wood-preserving primer and painted with several layers of black coating which visually camouflages the wood. In some situations, additional requirements have been imposed with regard to fire safety. In case required, Wood59® offers the option of treating the wood with a fire-retardant primer up to Euro fire class B.
